The Treaty of Versailles (ended WW I)

The treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty between the allied powers and Germany. It blamed Germany for the war and had them take all responsibilities for it. Their colonies were taken away from them. Germany had to pay 11.6 billion euros for reparations. Germany could not have more than 100,000 troops and they could not export, import, or make weapons. They could not have tanks, armed aircraft or armored cars. I think that the treaty wasn't fair because it only blamed Germany for the war when there was a lot of factors that led to the war. Historians thought that the treaty of Versailles led to World War 2 because that weakened Germany and made it easier for Hitler to convince the German citizens that he would be a good leader.

Film Lesson - "Gandhi"

Gandhi helped India gain independence utilizing different things. He used civil disobedience during the salt march by taking the salt from the water. This was in violation of the British law and the British arrested the protesters. He urged people to make their own clothes to boycott the factories. I think that if there was no Gandhi, India would probably still get its independence. There might have been smaller, less organized protests. Britain was in World War 2 and they didn't want to deal with India so either way they probably could have got their independence.
